I must admit, like many book collectors, I am pleased when the larger books come in fine shape. This was packaged well, in a sturdy case, and arrived brand new, in MINT CONDITION.

But onto the content: I am a comics professor of sorts. I graduated from UCLA Film School and I teach at George Washington University, and like many older fans I can be a bit jaded by relaunches of titles, but Marvel Now is worth ordering for someone who enjoys a truly rich cinematic experience, alive with a range of characters and styles. All in all, quite a fine effort. The Hulk and the Young Avengers in particular are experiencing high watermarks right now in terms of content and style. This material is like a great HBO series, and, without giving away details, I am pleased that I boarded this train to a landscape ripe with imagination and utterly talent-driven.

The Marvel Now! first issues are collected here and after finally reading them all, I have very little interest with continuing to read the series. This seems like a quick and desperate response to DC's 52 series and it doesn't read well. The worst of the bunch (although a close race to last place) is the Superior Spiderman. What a horrible idea and concept!

Of course, I am expressing my opinion here and your mileage may vary.
