We have here a group of much-reprinted stories connected by a common premise: Somewhere, long ago during an interstellar war, a race created vast machines with orders to wipe out all life they encountered. The war is over and the race gone, but the berserkers continue. Now they've reached the human sector of the galaxy, and the humans react. Barrett Whitener, an active audio presenter, has a peculiar breathy quality to his rich, expressive voice.
