I am writing this review as dictated to me by my 7 year son (who was literally jumping up and down for joy when he heard it was out).

"Action! It's so creative!
I love that it's so 6 and 7 year old friendly. It's really really cool! It's cool because every Danny Dragonbreath book has a big problem that Danny and his friends have to solve. It really should be called the adventures of Danny and Wendell - you'd think they were brothers. I really like that Danny and Wendell are such good friends. And that is all."

Now, from a Mom perspective ... this is the latest book in this great series, and it doesn't disappoint. I love that the books slip in a little bit of science and critical thinking along with the fun action. Danny, Wendell, and Christiana are good role models for children, and Danny's cheerful outlook on life is quite infectious.

The illustrations are great, and the writing is fast paced and appealing to younger readers and parents alike. I recommend the series highly.

I own the rest of the series and frankly this is just as weirdly funny and fresh as Ursula Vernon's first book in the series. I have no children, I'm allergic to them, but I love these books as a way to let my inner child romp. It keeps her from getting into much worse... trust me.

We all have our own book interests. I've found this of interest for some of my high school level struggling readers. The series runs about 4th grade level. I read with my child and felt it was all over the map and hard to follow. That was my opinion as an avid book reader and individual who has spent thousands of my own money on my class library books for students. It has some visuals but I just don't like the story lines but have had students read front to finish and liked it.

I wish Vernon had even more Dragonbreath books. We absolutely love them. As a parent, I like reading them, and my 4-year-old loves the stories. They're funny and sarcastic so that adults won't lose their minds reading them, and the story and pictures are compelling so kids are interested. I can't say enough good things about the Dragonbreath series.

We love Danny Dragonbreath at our house! They are some of the core books that my son learned to read with.

The books are funny and sly, with a couple layers of humour, one for the kiddies and one for the adults reading to the kiddies.

I recommend all of them. Start at the beginning!

I just love, love, love Danny Dragonbreath and Wendell. And the stories which include Christiana are even more entertaining as there is a certain dynamic in the Danny/Christiana relationship that just cracks me up. And Wendell's fear of having to eat more organic health food creations rings true to my heart as that is how my own mother was. I really do think I might even enjoy these stories more than my 7 year old does! (Shhhhhhh!)

One thing that does disappoint me though is that I cannot lend these Kindle books. They are not cheap, that's for sure (especially for a Kindle book on which I typically will spend no more than $4) and I know if I were able to lend mine out, Ms. Vernon would have another large group of fans...none of the parents I know are familiar with the Danny Dragonbreath series, and I know they would love it. Maybe put some kind of limitation on lending...like a max of 2 times per book, or something. Especially with its price!

But thanks again for a fun story!

This is a great fantasy series for the younger set. This is a perfect book for grades 1 - 4. It is partly graphic with large size print and short chapters so great for new or recluctant readers. My son has the entire set and they are a big hit at the school library.

The book DragonBreath Case of the Toxic Mutants is GREAT!!! It's about 200 pages. The authors name is Ursula Vernon. The genre is Historical Fiction. I recommend this book for ages six and up.
This book is great because it has rising and falling action. Danny DragonBreath and his friends are on the hunt for his grandfather Turlingsward's dentures. There so big because his grandfather is a fully grown DRAGON and the size of a house. He thinks his neighbor stole them, but Danny and hid friends asked her and she said "Whoever it is stole her lawn flamingo. Then Danny, Wendell, and Christiana go to the library and do some research on the track they saw. It was a pack rat! Anyways that's all I'll tell you about the book, if you want to find out more about what happens read the book!!!
My favorite part of the book was when Danny, Wendell, and Christian go into the pack rat hole because Wendell is always afraid to do the stuff that Danny does. But Wendell has too because the pack rats took his retainer and he has to get it back or his mom will kill him if she doesn't have a heart attack first. I recommend this book for YOU because it is the best book ever. If you like books with genres that are historical fiction then this is the book for you!
I'm a great fan of all the other books in the Dragon Breath series like Attack of the Ninja Frogs, Dragon Breath and all the other books in the series... THEY'RE GREAT!
The author really enjoys books that have historical fiction as the genre. I know that because all the books in her the Dragon Breath series are historical fiction. And she has a really creative mind because all the Dragon Breath books have talking animals in them.
