I liked the pictures in this book, but it didn't give me a real idea about what paleontologists do (which was the reason for my purchase) I teach kindergarten and wanted something that would get them interested without being too advanced. We learned more reading the notes at the end of the book, but this book still had great pictures. Just wasn't what i expected.

Great rhythmic story about being a paleontologist, my 5yo's current first choice in careers. The last page has some funny facts that appeal to little ones, such as that paleontologists use toothbrushes and toilet paper to clean and wrap bones. It also includes some interesting information on the mistakes scientists have made in identifying and assembling bones (grown ups make mistakes too!).

Dig Those Dinosaurs
Audio book that tells of when a scientist digs at a site. Tools they use: toilet paper, toothbrush and shovels.
Lots of repetitious words but I can't tell what they are doing on the pages.
Fossils including bones and dropping are located at the NY museum.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

My daughter and I love this book--she's fascinated by dinosaurs and loves the simple, rhythmic writing. She even sings along as I read! The back of the book includes more detailed information about dinosaurs and paleontology, which has been great as she gets older and wants to know more facts. The art is playful and shows lots of details without being too didactic--a perfect fit for the book. I would highly recommend!

DIG THOSE DINOSAURS by Lori Haskins Houran,Illustrated by Francisca Marquez is an wonderful Children's Book/Educational. Debut author,and what a wonderful job she has done. Well written,with engaging characters,easy to follow,rhythmical text and well researched. A wonderful addition to any library. Young readers are sure to be engaged while they learn a bit about Paleontologist. "Dig Those Dinosaurs" is a great read for both young and older readers. While,it is suggested for ages 4-7,I believe older readers will enjoy this authors insight and research into this story. Received for an honest review from the publisher.
