Some of the postcards included in this box are priceless. 'Forget the old Wonder-woman, here's the NEW wonder-woman!'- and it shows a pictures of a hippy wonder woman.

I'm a person who likes superheroes, so I really enjoyed this set.

A bit of a disclaimer, though- there's a disproportionate number of batman and superman cards in here. If you like someone who isn't as 'big'- like, say, the green lantern or the flash- then you'll probably be disappointed. Both of them had only one or two in the entire box.

Like the description says there are 100 postcards and the years run from February 1935 to February 1989. Most of the postcards have Superman, Supergirl, Batman & Robin, Wonder Women, Aquaman, and Green Lantern on the cover. You have other super heroes also like the Flash, Green Arrow, and Martian Man Hunter. Also included are the Teen Titan, Justice Society of America and the Justice League. Villains like the Joker, Catwoman, Cheetah, Penguin, and the Riddler get to be on the cover. These post cards are smaller then you average postcard. The post cards measure 3¨ú inches by 5¨ý inches. Regular postcards measures are 4¨ù inches by 6 inches; so some writing is lost. Still the Art of Vintage DC Comics: 100 Postcards are great to own or mail.

I was really excited to get this set, because I know there are truck loads of hilarious comic book covers out there, and I love Batman and Wonder Woman. I bought the The Art of Vintage Marvel: 100 Collectible Postcards set a couple years ago and it was an absolute scream.

While some of these cards are certainly chosen for the humor, whoever picked them out seemed to actively avoid covers with dialogue (which tend to be the funniest). There are also a random handful of modern covers thrown in, and I don't consider the 1980s to qualify as "vintage."

The cards themselves are nice, on good thick cardstock, and each cover has a black border around it. I found this slightly odd, since they could have increased the size of the cover a bit (by contrast the Marvel covers run off the edges of the cards, so you miss a bit of information).

All-in-all, if you're torn between the Marvel and DC sets (which I was), go for Marvel.

The cards are well made - high quality stuffs.

They are real postcards you can mail out to friends and families.

I will keep them for collection however.

I hope DC (and Marvel) will made more. Maybe dedicated collections for each character.

They are small in size; perfect for collection.

I bought this collection of 100 postcards to send to my daughter who is a huge comic book fan. Most covers are from the 70s or earlier so it is a great blast from the past for me as well. The selection is excellent, with slightly more superman and Batman covers, with just a few missteps with a few of the more modern illustrative covers (I prefer the older, more graphic line style best). The card stock is heavy and has an enlarged, lightly tinted version of the cover on the writing surface that adds a nice graphic flair.

On the backs I usually write spoofs of what is happening on the cover (in the case of Golden Age comics it's easy to do. But super fun!) I try to send a couple every week. At the end of the year my daughter will have a unique record of the year in comics. I intend to give her the box-which is robust cardboard and nicely designed-so she can store them as a set.

Like some other reviewers mentioned, I must admit that there are quite a few more Batman and Superman cards than other superheros but, that's to be expected. There were a few that were entirely unexpected, but delightful; V for Vendetta for example. The cards are of a good quality, heavy and well made. I moved to a different state for work for a few months, and sent these to friends back home. They all told me how much they loved them, and have them put up on the wall. Honestly, anyone who loves DC will love these. They are both practical, and awesome. I intend to use them again when I go out of country in a few months. There are so many cards that I imagine I'll get quite a bit of use out of them. They would also be good for anyone who likes to collect DC items and artwork.

A sturdy and attractive box holds 100 postcards derived from the covers of old DC comics. The cards themselves are well printed and suitable to pinning, mini-framing, or indeed mailing, and take ink well. Nice to have around if you send a lot of cards, and of course a great gift for the comics fan.

I've been burning through these since I received them. I bought one set to send another to keep. Keep the art of letter and card-writing alive by letting everyone know that you're a comic-boy fanboy! It's a point of pride for me. If I have anything to complain about, it's that the set is very SUPERMAN, BATMAN, WONDER WOMAN-centric.
