I am three fourths finished with the book. So far it is very informative and interesting. I lived through that period but had forgotten many of the events. I was not as aware of Corretta's life as I should have been.

This was a very good book. I have read several books on the Kings, particularly MLK Jr and Coretta King's biographies. This book added more insight from a different perspective. It shows the lighter side of Coretta. It also provided historical information that many people are not aware of or completely forgotten. As a native Alabamian, I enjoyed the historical info on Perry County.

What a beautiful, authentic tribute to Coretta Scott King. Edythe, her sister, is the perfect biographer; you'll wish she was still alive and could write the story of each of us! The history of the Scott family is a particularly delightful bonus. So much is written about Martin Luther King, Jr, and Coretta, but not enough is known about their family's history; where they come from, who their ancestors are. This book captures all of this as well as the richness and beauty of their life's story. This book was written over almost an entire lifetime; written first in the last years of Dr. King's life, but then finished and published just two years ago. This seemed to allow for the scope of a whole life, both Coretta and Edythe, to come into play in the telling. They both come from a wonderful family and both the story and the history are so very rich.
