Bought one for my brother for Christmas, and now I want one for myself. Beautiful pictures and insightful descriptions of a treasured Georgia natural landmark. I highly recommend this book for anyone from Georgia and anyone visiting Georgia!

This great book is about a wonderful river that very few people know anything about, The Altamaha. I' from Georgia and I did not know that much about this fantastic body of water. IF you are a fan of ecology and the outdoors, I would suggest that you consider buying this book. Janisse Ray is one of the authors. She wrote "Ecology of a Cracker Childhood". Well worth the cost of the book and the time spent reading it.

This is a wonderful collaboration with majestic images and informative text, written in the spirit of saving the river. An important regional book, the text is researched and on point.
