This account greatly encouraged my faith in God as well as expanding my knowledge of this little-known part of the world. An exhilirating account of how God swept a million Naga people in northeast India into His kingdom, through a series of revivals from the 1950s to 70s. Highly recommended.

Though the title of the book, and the brief description makes it obvious, I had to read this book in order to really know what was in it.

It is nothing but Christian Baptist propaganda, with clear signs of rightist, racist and conservative tones. The author castigates the local and indigenous traditions of the Nagas as evil, and in almost direct terms calls them the worshiper of devil, quite in the league of the medieval Church fathers who considered pagans as the worshipers of the Devil. He considers the sometimes gun-point conversion of the Nagas as the grace of God and thinks that it is only now that the Nagas have seen the light of civilization, the hope of humanity and salvation. It is not very different from the colonialist, imperialistic aim behind 'the White Man's' burden.

Very few indigenous cultures are safe today from the onslaughts of Christianity, Islam and consumerism. Vernacular cultures and alternative lifestyles are disappearing daily. This book is a contribution to that agenda. Beware while reading it.
