5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting!!!!!!!, June 9, 2005
A Kid's Review
This was another wonderful book from Lois Duncan!!! It is haunting and thrilling both at the same time. It had a lot of twists and turns, although a few of them were a little predictable.

Stranger With My Face is about Laurie, a pretty high schooler, who is just beginning to gain popularity. She has a popular boyfriend and is about to go to a end-of-the-summer party with him that evening. Unfortunately she gets a 24 hour bug which forced her to stay home. The next day at school everyone insists they saw her out on the beach with another guy, but she wasn't! Soon after all this the story becomes more fast paced as she soon discovers there is someone else with her face who seems to be everywhere. At first Laurie wants to learn more about this girl who she finds out is her sister. She wants to become closer to her and be a real friend to her, but soon Laurie finds out the true evil intentions of her twin. Her own parents won't listen to Laurie when she tries to tell them about what all is happening to her. Her 2 friends believe her and her other sister, who is 8, does too, but is will cost them. Slowly the evil twin begins to eliminate the only 3 believers. The twin then begins to take over Laurie's life.

This book was really good and I definitely recommend it to any of Lois Duncan's many fans. It helps you to realize that it doesn't matter what you look like. READ THIS CREEPY BOOK!!!:)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Supernatural Thriller, April 7, 2000
few writers spook me like Duncan does. Stranger with my Face was the first book of hers I read. Although the actual plot doesn't thrill, its the depth of the bad character's evilness and the manipulating game she plays on the main character that really makes this story good. Also, there is romance, family bonding and loyalty among friends that makes this book even better. If you like romance, spooky thrillers and happy endings, I recommend this book highly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Must Read!, January 12, 2004
A Kid's Review
I read the book Stranger With My Face for my independent reading project in my English class. It is a fiction book by Lois Duncan. Some of the themes were horror a lot of mystery. Stranger With My Face is about a girl named Laurie Stratton. Laurie is adopted and later finds out that she has a twin sister named Lia who was seperated from her at birth. Throughout the book, after meeting Lia, weird things start happening. Lia tries to take over Lauries' life by taking over her body through astral-projection, and her friends and family start claiming they're seeing her in places she hasn't been and doing things she isn't. Laurie has to figure out how to stop Lia and keep her from ruining her life.
I was very interested in this book because it kept me wanting to read more and more. The first few chapters were a little slow but after that it just pulled me in and kept me enticed for the rest of the story. I would recommend this book to teenagers because they might be able to relate to Lauries character better than younger kids. I would also recommend it to anyone who likes to be scared from what they read because it deffinatly creeped me out a lot.

Meghan R.
