About the Author
Clark James Mishler Trained as a graphic designer, Mr. Mishler was first introduced to the photographic process in 1970 while studying at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. After college, Mr. Mishler fulfilled his life long dream and came to Alaska in 1971 where he established himself as as an award winning graphic designer, publication designer and photographer. In 1977, Mr. Mishler was hired as a layout editor by the National Geographic Magazine in Washington D.C. and returned to Alaska in 1979. In 1989, Mr. Mishler became a full time freelance photographer. Over the past twenty years, Mr. Mishler's editorial photography has been published in numerous regional, national and international publications. In addition, Mr. Mishler s corporate images have appeared in national and international annual reports and other corporate publications. In May of 2003, Mr. Mishler was selected as one of 1000 photographers nation wide to participate in the America 24/7 photographic project which resulted in the photographic documentation of each state in America for one week in May, 2003. Mr. Mishler s images appeared in both America 24/7 published in 2003 and Alaska 24/7 published in 2004. Mr. Mishler currently lives in Anchorage with his wife, Mitzi, and is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers and The National Press Photographer's Association.
