I just bought Billie Jane McIntosh's latest book "From Georgia Tragedy To Oklahoma Frontier" to add to my own personal library. I am a decendent of Chief William McIntosh through Catherine "Kate" McIntosh Cousins, sister of Chilly, and it is nice to have all the information I can on my ancestors. These books will be passed down for generations to come. Thank you Billie for another great book!

Amazing book! Ms. McIntosh does a great job of telling the story of Chilly. It is refreshing to find a historical book about Native Americans that is void of the "fake/hollywood" type dramatizations. You won't be disappointed with this page turner.

Excellent book, but in addition to what the other reviewers have said, I believe the real value in reading this book is the details / explanations of the Creek traditions and how they were observed. I found it especially interesting that the Creeks replaced their pottery each year. It makes you think that there was some health reason that evolved into this tradition. I would encourage anyone interested in Creek Indians to read this book.

There are well written and researched books available about the Creek Nation. This is not one of them. The re-interpretation of the events leading up to the execution of William McIntosh for treason are wholly self serving.

It is quite puzzling why the author begins with the admission of feeling guilty as a youth by denying native ancestry. Then by the end of the book the author extensively traces the foreign 'McIntosh' family line with hardly a nod to the Creek.

I forced myself to finish the book hoping to be able to derive any useful information. Having found so much in direct conflict with other more authoritative sources it would not be any benefit to attempt to use this as a counter point of view.
