About the Author

Michele Meek is a filmmaker, writer and publisher with an expertise in film distribution. She pioneered NewEnglandFilm.com, the premiere magazine and resource for indie filmmaking in the northeast and co-founded BuyIndies.com which for nearly 10 years served as a site to purchase films from over 1,000 filmmakers and distributors. Currently she is publisher and board member of the nonprofit Independent Media Publications which has relaunched AIVF's The Independent film magazine. Respected as a young entrepreneur and champion of independent film, she received the 2005 Baldwin Award for Alumni Recognition in Film & Video by Boston College and the 2000 Image Award for Vision and Excellence by Women in Film & Video New England.

Helpful for filmmakers seeking distribution for their work... if you're not sure where to send your film, this is the book for you. It lists many distributors, and their aquisition information. The disributor q&a part was also very helpful. Great for people just starting out in the film industry.
