VERY well balanced. Very flexible. Fits just about any game. I put a big review of the gameplay on the B&W edition; the highlights are that it's an easy system, balanced, and extremely malleable. You can build most any concept with the classes in it, usually in more than one way. The Vitalist and Tactician are better support than the stuff in Core - very good at their job, good at doing other things, and less likely to break the game with broken effects and combos grandfathered from decades ago.

The fluff is inobtrusive and easily adjusted. It isn't "Sci-fi"; the words have Greek roots instead of Latin, yippee. The only reason it would seem like weird sci-fi stuff is if the GM specifically goes out of their way to make it look that way. Of course, it's flexible, so if you WANT it to look like that, you can.

I ran a game where this was the only kind of "magic" around. It was very balanced and I could mold the content with ease - I didn't need to add any odd specific things or quirky fluff, it was just magic. The rules were very intuitive and easy to learn and understand. I'd recommend it for any game.

This tome is the compilation of the three previous volumes from Dreamscarred Press. For people like me, who don't have them and want all the material in one book, this is the one to have. If you already have the previous books, like Psionics Unleashed, you have little incentive to get the book, unless you want a single hardcover.
Races, classes and prestige-classes, archetypes, skills, powers and feats are ordered similar to the PF Core Rulebook.

Psionics for Pathfinder! I have no qualms with the content. It's text-heavy and a bit light on imagery, but it is jam-packed with content. As for presentation? The pages are not glossy and seem to be of almost printer-variety paper that you'd use at home. The hard cover is slightly taller than the Paizo books - so it will stand out from the rest of your collection. A bit distracting and disappointing, given the price, but nothing critical. It's very functional; although it could use a little bit more editing for future editions (slightly hard to navigate when looking for something specific).

So, 5 stars for content, 3 stars for presentation. Overall a solid 4 stars.

The book feels like a well build book like the rest of the pathfinder books. The information inside is well organized and easily incorporated into an existing pathfinder game. This book was worth the purchase

The content is really nice, but was disapointed to see that I could have get a better printing quality with my own printer. I kept the book anyway, but you should know that it lack the quality of Paizo books.

While we've only just begun to actually play with this book at my table, after reading through it off-and-on for a few weeks I can say that it definitely has the quality necessary to go with an "allowed until proven broken" policy on its content. For those worried about the problems with 3.5e psionics I can say that this book addresses those quite cleanly by simply saying that you can't spend more points at once than your level. Short, simple, and prevents people from dump 100+ points into a single ultra-nuke then going home.

The main highlight for me was the Aegis class. It can be though of as similar to a not-broken version of a summoner with the synthesist archetype. It's a full BAB class that focuses entirely on adaptability and the armor it summons (which is actually armor, not an outsider suit), but doesn't actually manifest (the psionic name for casting). A very flexible class that could support virtually any non-caster build. You could do a fantasy version of Iron Man, make an angel-themed flying archer, a speedster, or just a classic sword-and-board heavy armor fellow (that happens to be resistant to nearly everything).

The Wilder is also a high note. They're like sorcerer done right (but psionic). Fewer powers known than the full psion (named Psion, appropriately enough), but same number of power points and the ability to surge beyond normal limits for more powerful effects. They're also 3/4 BAB and have a little bit of defensive padding to round them out.

The other classes are by no means slouches and each have their own exciting points (like the Soul Knife that summons weapons with his mind, or the Tactician that forms a synergistic mental link with the party). The above two are just the highlights for my own style.

Pretty much what everyone said here is true. This book is just beyond awesome. It's very much setup just like the Pathfinder Core Rulebook, where a large part of the beginning of Ultimate Psionics feels like a Player's Handbook, and the second half of the book feels very much like Gamemaster's Guide. So to really sum it up, you get psionic races, lots of classes, TONS of powers, cool feats, cool skills, psionic Prestige classes, psionic magic items, and even psionic artifacts with quick histories and ideas on how to destroy them. At the end of the book, you get a quick summary on some typical psionic pets/familiars. The only thing that I felt was missing, were psionic gods, (like how D&D 3.5 Expanded Psionic Handbook had the 2 psionic Greyhawk gods at the back of the book.) I asked Dreamscarred Press about this on their FB page, and they told me that the psionic gods were saved for their psionic campaign setting. Dreamscarred Press (DSP) is a great bunch of guys, and they seem to be constantly on the FB page answering questions about anything psionic. Not like you will really need that though, because everything is so well explained in this book. If I can understand it, ANYONE can understand it!! As others have said, the pages are not glossy. Honestly, it's not a big deal. This book is awesome!!

I recommend the companion book to this, Psionic Bestiary. With both books, you'll have a complete system to drop right into your Pathfinder game, (plus it's just brilliant to see how DSP got around the licensing of the Mindflayer with the Phrenic Scourge. They are just ruthless creatures!!)

I've used the garbage psionics that were in the back of the original 1st Edition AD&D Player's Handbook.
