I'm not sure I've ever quite understood the "all in one" dummies books. They are certainly more comprehensive than your standard dummies book and at over 600 pages this one is no exception, but "Book 2" "Just for fun" isn't a book, neither is "Pad on the Go" (book 3) or "Using iPad to get Organized". Each "book" is a well designed sections of a complete book and if you're playing the value game you might even get two books worth of information for the price of one here, but you shouldn't fool yourself into thinking you're getting 6 volumes worth of value here.

That said this book is chock full of great tips and is broken down as follows:

Book 1: iPad Basics
This section covers the basics from picking out and buying your iPad the most basic interactions you can have with the iPad interface, , setting up the iTunes store, browsing the web, and managing settings

Book 2: Just For Fun
Apps, games, photos and video; they are all covered here. There's a little overlap with the iTunes store discussion in book one, but it provides a thorough overview and having a little repeated information means you can pick up the book and go without worrying too much about what you may have missed in earlier sections

Book 3: iPad on the Go
This section covers connectivity like 3G, 4G and WIFI setup as well as maps and special apps for "road warriors." I thought that the special apps section was worthy of its own section, but connectivity could have been covered in setup and maps could have gone with general apps. Again I don't fault the book for separating things how it did (All and all this makes for a nice section), but its not its own book.Read more ›

iPad All-in-One For Dummies I bought this book for my daughter after buying her an Ipad2---she says it has helped her tremendously and the humor definately helps :) am I the only person in the world who is frustrated(am being polite here)by Apple and their lack of any kind of decent manual supplied with their pricy products. I love Apple products but this really annoys me.

All around fantastic book not only for beginners just learning how to use their new iPad, but also for users already familiar with iPad and/or Apple products in general. The color illustrations, examples and helpful screenshots make learning how to use this incredible gadget super easy.

The book is laid out in very useful sections such as iPad Basics, Just for Fun, iPad on the Go, Getting Productive with iWork, Using iPad to Get Organized and Must-Have iPad Apps. This book is also updated to accommodate iPad2 users. Easy to understand chapters walk readers through setting up your iPad, sharing photos, participating in social media through your iPad in addition to many tips and tricks to boost productivity and organization when using your iPad.

I started out using my iPad2 without any type of guide like this. Because Apple products are so intuitive and user friendly I was able to figure things - but the learning curve would have been much shorter had I had iPad All-in-One for Dummies from the start.

I love For Dummies, iPad, 6 in one books. It has more details than just the Dummies iPad for Dummies. It goes into detail about the basics, which are fun: iTunes, music, videos, cameras, photos, e- reader, and games; how to use your iPad on the go; being productive with iWork, using your iPad for organizing things like files, notes, schedules (calendar), & contacts. The last chapter is my favorite, "Must Have Apps." An app can show you apps that are related, a fun shopping iPad trip. And I enjoy all For Dummies books because they have humor in them. The Dummies Books now have color. This book is a treat.
