Very convenient, written to the point, good table of contents leading to well-marked chapters, PERFECT index. Really is the book to have for this camera. I also bought its big brother, the full-length "Nikon D4/D4s Guide to Digital SLR Photography" on Kindle. I'm reading through the Kindle version, also good. Kindle is great for straight-through pleasure reading, but it is NOT good for reference or instructional works; in fact, it's absurdly clumsy and frustrating. For example, the very good index of this guide is produced in the Kindle version, but it can't be used, since the Kindle version doesn't show me page numbers. The "Field Guide" on the other hand fits handily in a pack or carryall side pocket, is spiral bound for stay-open reading, and finding a point of interest takes seconds.

Just receive my copy and it is built to use in the field. All the info condensed to answer any question you will have. I have the main guide by Busch which is large but complete on the use of the D4s and my review of this guide shows me it is a complete companion to take where ever you go.

I love D. Busch books. I have purchased them for all of my camera models. His books are easy to read and understand. He explains the functionality of the camera clearly. He also explains why to use a certain function to achieve the best photos.

I was hoping that this book would provide additional information about using the D4s camera. Unfortunately, like so many aftermarket camera books, it was substantially just a rehash and restating of information included in the owner's manual. I did not find things in the book to indicate that the writer had even used -- or used for any substantial amount of time -- either the D4 or D4s.

The problem, of course, is that this is a top of the line professional camera. Relatively few are sold, so the market is quite small for aftermarket how to books about pro cameras. Suspect that 'professionals' don't feel the need to buy a generalist book on this camera. A couple of the top authors of camera books...books that go beyond the manual...don't offer anything on this camera.

Not an expensive book, and the layout is nice. I don't consider it a waste of money, just a bit of a disappointment.

This is an excellent guide. Not as small as I would have hoped but it certainly is packed with the information you will need to get the most out of this amazing camera. Not sure if it is practical to take with you on a days photography, but leave it in the car!
