'Storm' is the thrilling third installment in a Christian young adult dystopian series that deals with a group of kids known as the Dust - those that are Markless. The Mark was implemented by the government as a way to keep a trace on the people, but it also allows them their citizen rights. Those without the Mark are outcasts from society and even get arrested just for not having the Mark. Enter in our main character, Logan Langely, who is a member of the Dust, and has recently escaped the clutches of the elusive Archeron prison - a place where they brainwash the Markless into soldiers for their cause. Inside, Logan found his long lost older sister, Lily, only to discover she had conformed to their ways. After learning about Trumpet - a disease that the Union had made to keep the Markless "under control" - Logan and his friends have to race to find a cure - and fast. Because one of their own, a Marked girl named Erin, has just shown the first signs of infection - and time is running out.

Growing up going to church, I have always heard stories and sermons dealing with the "End Times." The Antichrist, the Mark of the Beast - so all of this is familiar to me. That might be part of the reason that I am so engaged in this series. It was all eerily familiar and had a tinge of possible reality to it that made it all the more engrossing for me to read. It's a great concept with a well written and fast paced narrative - regardless of the reader's familiarity with the concepts. The characters are flawed, mostly broken, and completely believable - so it's easy to identify with them early in the book, especially if you've read the first two installments to the series.

We just got this much anticipated book. Luckily for us it came earlier than the release date said when we preordered. I didn't tell the kids and when it got here, they were just so excited to see it on the counter. One of my teen boys who got hold of it first was the first to start reading it, but his big sister stole it from him later when he took a break. We haven't all gotten to read it yet, but my daughter says it is excellent and she is very picky about her books. My son is halfway through and is trading his video game time for it (they don't get much video game time; so that should tell you something). He loves Evan Angler's swipe series books and even emailed him a long time ago to find out when his next book was coming out. He's a really nice guy and responded to my son to let him know. We pray that his career goes far. My son let him know that they should be made into movies and I totally agree, they would be way better than most of the "end time" movies out there. I wish someone would take notice. Anyway, I'm just happy that my boys are wanting to read and fighting over who gets to read it first because they actually hate reading. They don't want to touch any of their sister's Sonlight books but fight over these when they come out. I feel lucky that I discovered the first of the series in a bookstore randomly. I don't want you to think these are just kid books though, my husband and I have equally loved the series and can't wait until the kids are done with it so we can get our hands on it. Make sure you read the other two books first if you possibly can; Swipe and Sneak.

Having enjoyed the first two books in the Swipe series, Swipe and Sneak, I was excited to continue the story with Storm and I think I liked this one the best! It seems as the series continues, the books keep getting better (at least to me).

I was surprised by some things in Storm and there is one thing I especially loved - it was so interesting and added a nice twist to this series and Evan Angler. :)

As with the first two books, Storm was very believable. The ending was intriguing and definitely makes me want to read the next book, Spark (set to release November, 2013).

If you enjoy middle grade dystopian novels with some apocalyptic elements, I definitely think you'll like Storm. I highly recommend that you read Swipe and Sneak first, though.

*I received a complimentary ARC copy of this book for my review. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.*

Great book plenty of action and many unsuspecting twists and turns! The characters were well developed and likeable. If I'm honest I was a bit annoyed by Erin but the Dust members were very enjoyable to hear from!

Storm by Evan Angler delivered everything I was anticipating-- and more! Throughout the entire novel there was non-stop action and intrigue. There were several different plot-lines happening at once but this didn't hamper the forward momentum of the book in any way. Evan Angler's strength is in his story lines; they're vibrant, unique, and suspenseful-- although, the character development tends to suffer damage. True, while I was reading I didn't really care about the lack of character development because the plot stole the show; but as I was thinking about the book a few weeks after I had finished it, I felt somewhat short-changed because I knew so little about the characters themselves. (I only mention this because I know some readers enjoy a character-driven story instead of a plot-driven story.)

I loved how Evan included himself-- and his first book Swipe-- into this book. The characters even discuss how Swipe differs from how things actually happened! At the end, we see Evan delivering some vital information to one of the characters-- how unique is that? It's kind of like reading an eye-witness account of the future:-)

Which brings me to the ending. Evan has done it again with his BANG! ending. Wow! So unanticipated and an even greater Bang! than the previous two books-- which is a pretty amazing feat! This third book has thoroughly convinced me that, as of right now, I am going to read every one of Evan's books. His plots are that good! And I do enjoy a nice young adult read every now and then.

With mentions of super-cool future technology, a glimpse of future America, an amazing plot-- not to mention that BANG! ending-- and a cliff hanger, Storm by Evan Angler is not a book to miss. I give it 5 stars.
