I like the fact that this is a hands-on approach, not just theoretical. It has very useful practical applications. The writing is very clear and does not suffer from the usual academic jargon.

This book teaches you everything you need to know about the development of children. I have studied and read many books for my training as a child therapist- this one is by far the most useful.

The text is a excellent source of information about child development. However, I purchased a used copy, I paid almost fifty dollars for the text. I EXPECTED A MUCH CLEANER COPY. The text looks like it was owned by two previous owners.

I really liked using this textbook. The "Active Learning" sections provided me with an opportunity to explore hands-on approaches to theoretical concepts, and I had fun with the activities. The authors have made a real effort to make abstract concepts graspable to the reader.

This book is comprehensive and clearly written. I especially enjoyed the "tests" at the beginning of each chapter to examine if my "knowledge" of child development is consistent with empirical evidence. The studies are also up-to-date.
