As the title suggests, the author details ways to avoid probate. These including the following:

1. Setting up Payable-On-Death Accounts.
.
2. Name a beneficiary for your retirement accounts, stocks and bonds, vehicles, and real estate.
.
3. Holding property in a joint ownership.
.
4. Creating a living trust.
.
5. Special procedures for small estates.
.
6. Making gifts.
.
The contents are readable and general. As a result, the reader has to purchase selections from Nolo - the publisher - if he want to write a will or construct a living trust without hiring an expensive lawyer.
