Doesn't Provide Answer Key

This is a great resource, however its value is limited because there is no answer key for the workbook. The publisher says that the only way to get the answers is to spend $104.95 on the instructors CD. This really should be stated up front before people buy this book and learn the hard way.

Needed for class

Got a choice? Thinking about buying this? DON'T DO IT! Especially for the "new price." I got this used (here on Amazon) for 14.95 + shipping. I was excited to get it, but when I started reading it I got nothing, but disappointment. At the end of each chapter you have "Key Terms." The easiest way for me to learn things are to look up the definition of each word and study it (thus not having to read the entire chapter) thus getting the same result as reading the chapter.

When I looked at the key terms I notice that from chapter to chapter there are repeats of 'key terms'. Not all of them, but there ARE repeats. That's not too bad though. I guess they put that in there like that to try to drill these terms through your head and force you to remember them.

My biggest complaint about this book is the information within it. A lot of the time the definitions are completely outdated and NOT completely accurate according to the actual definition. (TRUST ME) Another thing I didn't like is how some of the Key Terms are NOT in the glossary at the end of the book. This is irritating when you start on the definitions (and have a good thing going) just to realize the fifth one on the list isn't anywhere in the glossary (not to mention some definitions are even hard to find on Google).

Not all things are bad about this book though (thus the two stars). It is very informative about the (VERY) basic things in truck driving including CMV Regulations, and such things. In closing if you HAVE to pick this up for school take it's words with a grain of salt. There are so much better books out there; it's a shame we had to use this one.

Trucking

I bought this book for a friend who thought he wanted to pursue a job in truck driving. He said he really felt that the book was very informative and that the information in the book would help him with his career in trucking

Delivery was prompt and slightly ahead of time. Product arrived in excellent condition. This book is an outstanding place to start for people considering a career as a truck driver or one that wishes to obtain his or her CDL and begin looking for a job. There are some minor inconsistencies but, overall this title is very comprehensive.

more than "some" markings
