The trial of Ruby McCollum had two transcripts. Both of these transcripts were buried in portions in various archives until Dr. Ellis retrieved them and made his best effort at constructing a close approximation of what actually transpired during the trial. The book has extensive annotations of each day of the trial with information reported from a writer who knew all of the characters involved in the story. It also has items not contained in any original version of the transcript to assist the reader in understanding the context of the trial. Readers are forewarned that this is a copyrighted work and not in the public domain.
