Format: Paperback
Dr. Friesen provides a realistic perspective on e-learning research. The book is superbly researched and organized with easy to follow content. The introduction and concluding chapters provide excellent summaries of the main sections on: cultural research, post-cognitivist turn, phenomenology: experiential inquiry, and critical and historical research. Dr. Friesen captures the reader's attention from the very beginning of chapter one where he suggests alternative ways of defining e-learning and the importance of "Multivocality" in educational research. The book would be of special value not only to doctoral and MA students and researchers, but to instructional designers, curriculum developers, educational leaders and policy makers interested in e-learning research as a way to improve learning.
