My son already owned and loved Tails and Alphabet, also by Matthew Van Fleet. When Heads was published, I knew we had to have it. The book is fantastic. It's funny, it has great textures for toddlers to touch, and it showcases a great variety of animals. There are a lot of pull tabs in this book and many of the moving parts are protected behind plastic cases (which is a welcome addition since, in other books, my son kept maiming animals in his enthusiam to make them move). Even though this book is quite expensive for a toddler book, it is well worth it. My 16-month-old rushes to pull it off the shelf and stares, slack-jawed in amazement, through every reading.

I have bought all of the books in this series for my grandchildren and I think that this is the best yet. They are very sturdy and worth the money. My grandchildren now range from 3 to 6 years old and even the 6 year old wants her turn with the book.

My husband and I REALLY want to do a great job reading to our 10 month old, but he's an active tot and would rather be romping than reading. Heads is different, though, because of all the fun moving parts. He loves watching them and grabbing at them. I looked at the other Van Fleet books in this series and I liked this one the best because of the variety and creativity.

My son loves this book! I got it and one page had a defect as it was not moving correctly the animal. I started the process of return without any issue with amazon, Unfortunately my son was faster than me and got another page bad so I'm keeping it. I wish the author had done a "protected cover" in all pages. Only few are and right now those are the only ones that has survived my sons excitement of pulling the book.

This is an adorable book. My daughter's daycare had it and the children would literally fight over who gets to use this book so for her birthday I purchased it. It's very interactive she's able to move all the pieces and it's really helped her learn her animals. We have since purchased other books by the same author and we are not disappointed.

We bought this book as the follow up to 'Tails' for our 1.5yr old, which our whole family has enjoyed. This book is just not quite the same. It is thick and heavy and the tabs don't move as fluidly as 'Tails'. My husband noted that in 'Tails' the tabs all had dual purpose (something on each side), where this one many of the tabs only move one aspect of the story adding to the bulk of the book. Overall, still a fun book, but my toddler has not enjoyed it quite as much as 'Tails' and the price tag is hefty!

Not as cool as Tails, and if you buy Munch, Sniff, and Lick you can skip this one, but it is still a nice book with neat motion features.
These books have great illustrations, fun poetry, and many things to touch and tug on.
Expect your baby to be able to do some accidental damage, so be ready with the tape and hot glue gun.

My oldest child LOVED Tails and my one year old became obsessed with the book as well. We decided to try Heads since Tails had become such a classic in our house. My kids love the book, and we definitely read this one repeatedly back-to-back. I wish there were more touch-and-feel features similarly to Tails, but my kids still seemed entertained. Overall, this is a cute book and is welcome to our little library!
