You know the feeling. You wake up, with that nagging dread of another day of work that is not what Mom promised when you finished your graduate degree. You stumble into the bathroom and there it is, the promise of a cartoon that will make whole the life you actually live. The New Yorker Calendar. You look at the new one, giggle, and walk into the shower. You can do this again.

To be honest, I haven't seen the 2015 version yet. But I buy these every year for my husband and we both enjoy them tremendously. And if you like these, you won't want to miss the New Yorker Rejection Collections--books of cartoons that were considered too dark, too dumb or too naughty for the New Yorker. We laughed until we cried.

I always get the New Yorker Day-to-Day calendar for my desk. This year, I got one for my wife, too. We both enjoy the intelligent humor it contains. Since this calendar has work from many cartoonists, it does not get repetitious like many day-to-day desk calendars do.

I buy this for my husband every year for his birthday which is New Year's Eve. He loves the cartoons and frequently shows the best ones to me. He even saves his very favorites. It adds a little humor to his day.

One of my daughters gave me the 2014 version and I enjoyed it all year. Most of the cartoons are very funny and it's nice to have a new one to enjoy each day. I share the cartoons with others sometimes. Two of my friends enjoyed the cartoons so much last year that this year I bought three of these, one for me and two for gifts! The missing fifth star is a bit of a quibble: the cartoons aren't all 100% hilarious (to me, anyway). I will probably buy it again next year if it's available.

This is the second year I ordered this calendar. 2014 was wonderful. 2015 - not so much. The cartoons are crudely drawn, without the usual "New Yorker" wry humor.
