There are 100 postcards in the box, 2 each of 50 designs. This was a very happy discovery to me: I wanted to send a postcard to a friend and was trying to figure out which one I could bear to part with---and got halfway through the box and realized I could send ANY postcard to her and still have one for myself!

These are nice thick cards, matte, very pretty, a nice assortment of patterns. I'm very happy with them.

This is a comprehensive collection of postcards celebrating Marimekko's evolving aesthetic. (Including works of seminal designer Maija Isola.)
Each design appears only once in the set.
Remember that this is a panorama spanning decades, including various designers, and is not limited to the aesthetic of the packaging.

Printed on white matte card stock, each postcard represents one full panel of a different Marimekko textile. The images are printed in bleed and so far, from what I can see, the printing alignment is very good. The reverse of the cards is blank except for text at the bottom including both the name of the pattern and its designer. (The typography is lovely.)

I have purchased two boxes for myself; one to be used for post cards, and the other to keep as art. I plan to hang a few in frames.
As a gift, Merimekko 100 Postcards upstaged other, more-expensive presents.

The one weakness is the binding of the box. I have purchased this collection twice, and in both cases the spine of the box-top has come un-glued. The top continues to open and close properly, the only loss is in the aesthetic. But it is such a small failing, that I still wish I could rate this higher than five out of five stars.
Buy it now. At this price, these will surely sell quickly.

I absolutely love Marimekko and their patterns, however I was somewhat disappointed that this set contained doubles of each pattern. Marimekko certainly has enough patterns to not need to repeat, but this is still a nice addition to my collection.

100 postcards, 2 of 50 designs. This is fine with me, because I love postcards & like to have a whole set of 50. Not that I have a problem with 100 different cards :)
Most of these are very cool. You can't please everyone, so some of the florals / abstracts aren't my thing, but I'm not always sending cards to people with my same taste, or using cards that I'm crazy about for some purpose or other.

Here's a little review on this product I wrote in a group of pattern designers I belong to:
"The Marimekko box includes some of their most simple basic dot prints to their very mod/Scandanavian style to their more illustrative prints. Many are artwork not necessarily in repeat, but I know without a doubt that this company knows how to do repeats. In short nice variety of their styles."
In addition to the above, I would like to see less or the very simple repetitive dot patterns and see more of their more interesting design work.
