This book is another great book written by the Monks of New Skete.
It shows the importance of our dogs in our daily lives and their relevance to our daily existence. It shows that we can learn from them if we take the time to watch and listen.

If you love dogs, don't miss this book. Written by the monks of New Skete, who support their monastery by raising, training, and selling German shepherds (and writing books), this is a collection of beautiful colored photographs of dogs of many breeds and thoughts and meditations about the relationships between people and their dogs. The monks tell us, "How we interact with a dog reflects our general attitude to God and nature, a tell-tale sign of the soul," and "Is there any other relationship in life in which the high point of the other's day is the moment we come home and walk through the door?" The only fault I could find with the book is that several of the pages are dark-colored and the black print on these pages will be hard for some people to read. But I'm giving five stars, anyway, because this only involves some of the pages, many people will not be bothered by it, and the pictures alone would merit the highest rating. I'm planning to order copies of this book as Christmas presents for my dog-loving friends. You might want to do the same.

It is a lovely book, with the spiritual connection between humans and dogs beautifully described and illustrated. It is, however, repetitious if you already have "I and Dog." One book is enough.

The monks have a writing style that is informative and uplifting all at once. The quotes they chose are perfect for the pictures. I own several of their books and love them all. I highly recommend this book to any dog companion.

This is sixth book that I own by the Monks of New Skete. This book, along with I & Dog and Dogs and Dogs & Devotion are truly inspirational. I have developed the habit of reading parts of at least one of them daily before I start training my dog. The are particularly useful as motivating tools.

I checked this book out from our local library and loved it. I sent this copy to my nephew who recently had to euthanize his 10 yr. old Doberman. I felt like the book would affirm the many ways we love our dogs.

Very cool coffee table book. Gives you a great feeling each time you pick it up. The Monks Rock. Try their training books, they are full of needed info if you have a dog to train.
