This book reads like a book about law written by a police officer.

My students want to become police officers and prison guards. They are taking my civil liability class and filled out anonymous surveys. The biggest complaint is the book. The book is less than clear. It uses statistics that are mathematically meaningless. It only thinly hides its bias against attorneys. The book characterizes §1983 of the civil rights act as a vehicle for citizens to attack innocent police officers.

The book does not discuss the elements of torts. Its attempts at practical advice are lost in generalities. The book does not cover the material and I seriously doubt whether the author understands the subject of torts or the subject of liability as it relates to police officers.

The book, in short, is not worth reading.

It certainly isn't worth making your students read it.
