It does make you appreciate the efforts of explorers and people who opened up lands in North America. Also makes you appreciate food and a warm place to sleep. Good point made about carelessness and overconfidence when you are in the wilderness.

The only things missing were maps of the route. I like to follow adventures this the one in this book by referring to maps. Loved it though!!
