Very nice, each page is a lesson, "a very short " lesson. It's a good review from Kindergarten but a little too basic as a 1st grade learning tool. We are using ours as review over the summer. Overall it is written nicely and the graphics are nice as well.

My daughter loved this workbook. It is, however, quite easy and she finished the entire workbook in three months. She loved putting the stickers on the lessons. A kindergartener could also easily do the lessons in this workbook.

Well made book. Good information, but no depth. At a first grade level, I expected a bit more specific information. The lessons do not flow into the next. One of the lessons was about body coverings, there are 5 animals listed and you draw a line to their body covering (fur, feathers, scales, quills). This is much too simplistic. I bought the kindergarten and 1st grade books for my 4.5 year old expecting the two to last us all year. Kindergarten was so easy we returned it. I wish I had returned this one before making in it. If you want a simple review, this could be good, but a science curriculum it is not. I should have saved my money and gone straight to Real Science 4 Kids.

My 1st grader enjoys this workbook. She usually doesn't like doing workbook, but she looks forward to doing this one. It's a little too easy for the most part. There are some part that you have to just know it because what you read doesn't really help you answer the questions that are asked.

This is quite easy for a 1st grader. However, I would buy it again because my daughter likes it and she feels accomplished by using the stickers in the front of the book after completing the lessons. The lessons do however, barely scratch the surface of things. They are very superficial, lack depth of topics.

It's great hands on approach makes it easy to use without feeling like you need a ton of stuff. I homeschool so this worked so well into our zoo day and outdoor play. If your homeschooling, you may find that this is suitable for ages 5, the prek book is great too. Not colorful so it's distracting . I would say that it's more Kinder material or could be, kids are severely underestimated by these books. My 5 year old loves it and ends up using it everyday!

There isn't much explanation for the adult to explain the topic to the child. The first page - astronomer vs biologist... I know what they mean but it would have helped to have a written definition for the child to get a TRUE educated guess, and not a mom guess. Much of it is simple so it's still good and we will use it.
