A useless book (it's really an article, not a book) and a waste of money. You can get more information on narcissism by a quick google search.

It's a locked PDF file, and the first 5 pages are either blank or stretched out pages saying nothing. Between virtually every chapter you will find 3-5 blank pages, apparently in an attempt to make it look like more than a brief article.

It didn't tell me anything I didn't already know and offered nothing useful. You'd do better buying Karyl McBride's books (I found "Will I ever be good enough?" to be extremely helpful and complete) or probably any book on Narcissism or about Narcissistic Parents and their effect on you.

But seriously, if you read an article online, it will be time better spent. And money not wasted.

Just about any written material on dealing with a narcissist can feel like a breath of fresh air to someone learning about Narcissistic Personality Disorder for the first time. This publication is simple and contains some good advice, information that can be found by anyone using a few keystrokes in Google; however, I would not encourage my clients to use this book as a reference. The author, using a pseudonym, has no actual training or experience in counseling. In fact, she is a moderator at a well-known forum for victims of people with NPD and frequently gives out advice that is at best ill-informed, and at worst, incorrect and damaging. She is very fond of her own writing, but she tends to state information in absolutes and is known to ban members for simply questioning her.

The author claims, on her forum, to have cut off all contact with her Narcissistic Mother, but this is not true. She still lives with her mother. "Drew Keys" is a new pseudonym; her favorite pseudonym is "Light," which should shed some light on her own opinion of herself.

Please, don't waste your money. Spend that 9.99 on a book written by Alice Miller, or by any person with actual credentials who will use their real name and stand behind their work.

I was very dissapointed that I wasted my money on a book that really contained a bundle of information gleaned from the internet and was really all about a plug for the authors website. Isn't self promotion a narccistict trait? There are much better books about narcissim written by professionals who really know what they are talking about.

I have discovered that the author is a pen name belonging to a person who is essentially an opportunist feeding on the vulnerabilities of emotionally fragile people for financial gain. There are a number of great books out there written by true authorities on narcissism and narcissistic family structures, as well as literature by former victims who share their stories of suffering in the lies and violence of the narcissistic family, all driven by purer motivations than this author seems to possess. I would suggest "The Narcissistic Family: Diagnosis and Treatment" by Stephanie Donaldson Prussian and Robert Prussian. Easy to read and a reliable source of information.

If you are brand new to narcissistic people, it's not a bad start. However, if you're looking to supplement knowledge on a path you already started, it's a little cliche and not very informative. Try others first...Healing Your Emotional Self or Who's Pulling Your Strings or Children of the Self-Absorbed or Toxic Parents.

Keep Questioning and Fighting and Searching - Don't Give Up

This writer has some useful insights but lacks the training and ability to address narcissism and related issues in a trustworthy, clear, and truthful manner. Please give careful consideration before engaging with this book or the related writings. Isn't it a red flag that neither in the book nor on the related website has the author provided any semblance of self-identification, much less any sort of background that establishes him/her as an authority or provides grounds for trust of any kind? If you find yourself in the position of having read the related websites, explored the forum, or of simply landing here and slowly realizing from the one-star reviews and the comments on higher-level reviews that Something is Rotten in Denmark, please hold onto the authentic sense of insight and hope that started you searching and brought you here. Please know that there are many extremely helpful books about narcissistic personality disorder, scapegoating, and related individual and family dynamics. These books are written by qualified, experienced psychotherapists who show you the fundamental human respect of identifying themselves, including their qualifications for taking up your time and trust with their views and recommendations. There is much help out there. I won't suggest particular titles, because you as the reader / searcher have the ability and the right to conduct an Amazon (or library or google) search yourself and to take a careful look at credentials and any other honest and verifiable information provided. Further, suggested titles would be redundant, would be offered without verifiable credential in the present context, and might make you take this review less seriously.
