Well, I do love the Idea of 'fights for truth', however, I don't believe the author of this series really had a 'good idea' on this book. A monkey who runs away after stealing bananas as Superman chases him down to tell the truth about eating them and in the end burps them up in a very loud burp hence taking responsibility? WHEWWWW!! Not very imaginative. This is an eye roller!

These DC board books are a great read and a lot of fun at storytime. I read this and the two Batman board books all the time to my 16 month old and he gets a big kick out them. They are sturdy with thick cardboard pages and a solid spine that doesn't feel like it's coming unbound anytime soon. They stand up to a good chewing pretty well. Each page has one or two simple sentences with dynamic images in the Animated series style so there are new words to introduce and it keeps my son's attention pretty well.

I admit, I am a huge nerd and I'm putting my son directly on the same path with these books, but the reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars is the story didn't quite have the neat ending the other books did. Titano the super ape has stolen some bananas, and it's up to Superman to get the truth out of the bad guy about what happened to them. Spoiler alert: he ate them. The end.

Considering some of the words my son is randomly shouting these days, including "banana" and "gorilla" thanks to other books like "Goodnight Gorilla," this book ended up right in our wheelhouse. If you're looking for something else to read everynight for the next few months the DC board books are worth picking up. Now I just wish they had some Wonder Woman ones as well.

My 3-year old loves Superman, so we bought him this book for Christmas. The story is pretty dumb. (Superman chases Titano because he stole some bananas; then Titano belches - yes, belches - up the banana peels. Gross.) Plus, it doesn't really have any of the fun Superman catch-phrases that my son loves to repeat. He likes the companion book Superman to the Rescue! a lot, but this one isn't as good.

After reading the fantastic Batman DC Board Books, I was curious to see this one. Our local library had a copy so we borrowed it. What a big disappointment. The images & story are rather repetitive. This book just isn't as fun to read as the Batman ones. Also, as a superhero fan, the content of the story was boring and disappointing. Spoiler alert - the fruit guy does not get his bananas back.

We have all the books in this series, and this is my boy's favorite. He won't go to bed until we read this one.

Get the other Superman book. This one is rather uncreative and kind of lame. Superman goes looking for bananas and it doesn't really teach much of a value either.

I liked the Batmas is Brave book for my son. This one is cheesy and has crude humor when he "let's out the truth" at the end with a huge burp.
