The best thing about this book was getting to know more about the author Steve Grisetti! Not only is Steve among the most knowledgeable person I have met online concerning Adobe Premiere Elements but is actually a VERY active member of Adobe's online forum along with others who are fast to respond (sometimes in minuets)! He also heads his own site called Muvipix.com another great, great source! Steve is a master teacher and once you uncover all he has out there to help both in written word and in tutorial clips, the learning curve on this program becomes much shorter. Steve's teaching method used in this book shows two ways for every effect, a laid out in step by step instruction and screen shot instruction. This way the amount of confusion is zero because you can read and see what is happening along the way. The tips and tricks are all unique and would be difficult to figure out without this book. He also explains terminology along the way and Hot Tips that fill out the understanding and options you have for your video project.

If you truly want to learn Adobe Premiere Elements I would buy everything with the name Steve Grisetti on it, he is that good!

Easy reading, the coloured pictures make the book easier to understand. It's a book that you should have as a Premiere Elements user because you will never find all these features by your self.

As with all other sophisticated software I've purchased, it takes one or two after-market primers to fully utilize Premiere Elements 11. And with the reasonably-priced (ie $100 or less) programs, the cost of the books has been almost as much as - and in a couple of cases was more than - the cost of the software itself. In both the long and short runs, however, the fast-track education I've gotten from such books has more than justified their cost.

With P-E 11, you need Adobe's "Classroom in a Book" to master the basics of the program. Once you have the basics down, you can turn out reasonably credible videos. At best you'll have videos that don't have any major glitches, and look like everyone else's work.

The problem with P-E 11 is that there are a lot of drag-and-drop effects that are exactly like those being dragged-and-dropped by thousands of other Premiere Elements users.

Kind of like Paint-By-Numbers videos.

If you want to create videos and movies that are really YOURS, you'll also need the latest version of Grisetti's "Cool Tricks & Hot Tips." Heaven knows, I needed it!

"Cool Tricks & Hot Tips" shows you how to MASTER the tools in Premiere Elements, and how to use them to create videos and movies that are truly and uniquely yours. (Imagine the difference between Painting-By-Numbers and being tutored by a gallery artist on the use of brushes and watercolors.)

"Cool Tips" is easily understood and quickly grasped, and the video I've created based on the tips in this book is head, shoulders, and belly-button superior to my previous stuff . . . and my previous stuff was head, shoulders, and belly-button better than the majority of the other non-pro videos I've seen.
