Format: Hardcover
As a musician, music producer and media technology student myself, I immensely enjoyed reading this book. The first chapter, which included numerous interviews with world famous musicians and producers, allowed the reader to receive information about how music has progressed over the years from a first-hand point of view. I especially liked the interview with Quincy Jones, as he is a friend of mine as well. The questions asked were very precise and detail-oriented, and I loved the content that Quincy provided back. I was also very much impressed and intrigued at the work that Lee has done in the past and his vast variety of interests. It shocked me to see that he is a founding director of the Woodbury University Digital Media Lab and the also the CEO of Newton Lee Laboratories LLC, president of the Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships, and founding editor-in-chief of ACM Computers in Entertainment. These positions along with many more really prove Newton to be a credible author and leave his audience with content that they can trust.

I especially liked chapter 2 of the book, in which Newton described his early career path and how he came to achieve such great accomplishments. It was extremely intriguing to read about how he began to become interested and music and how he branched out, not only into the music world, but into the field of technology. I feel as if Newton provided an awesome timeline which accurately represents the hard work and effort that was put into all of his projects and positions.

The book provided a great deal of information on how technology and computers have affected music production. Discussed were the various programs, software, hardware and external devices that have been used and further developed throughout the years.
