L-O-V-E this book! I usually steer clear of the health books. I workout, I eat right, I have a B.S. in Dietetics, I've competed in fitness competitions, I coach clients of my own and have come to a point where each new "health" book that comes out is just disappointing and repeating the same information that's been published a million times before. I haven't bought one in years because I always end up rolling my eyes and returning it. Until this book! This book will now be a requirement for all my clients and my new bible. What I love about this book (besides everything) is that whether you are just contemplating a lifestyle change, just now changing your life or have been fit and healthy for years, this book can take you to the next level. It doesn't matter if you are dedicated to running, lifting, yoga or are more of a leisurely walker this book works for everybody and every body. This book will never sit on my shelf and collect dust, because I can use it daily. It's a constant reminder of just because I am working out and eating correctly that doesn't mean that I can't set goals and improve other aspects of my health. It constantly shows you how to fine tune each aspect of your life and improve while teaching you how to find your level of fitness that fits your life and makes you successful.

I love this book because its easy to follow (I can read it from cover to cover or skip around to what I need) and clearly lays out how I can make incremental changes in my life based on where I am at, without feeling guilty for not being where I want to be...yet! I've been on and off diets and workout plans countless times before, with varied success. So, I wondered what this book could teach me that I hadn't already learned over the years. And that's where the surprise came....it showed me that its not just about knowing what to eat or which exercises to do (although it gives suggestions for these things), the key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle is to accept myself and make small choices every day that can lead to big changes in my life. When I feel too tired to work out or make a healthy meal, I remind myself to just "take a small step" and it feels less daunting and more achievable.

Being a professional athlete and an owner of a health and wellness company, I can appreciate when someone does the research to organize and supply correct information. This book is informative and easy to follow. Anyone who reads this book will receive plenty of information and be able to begin leading a healthy lifestyle.

I got this book while it was temporarily free and read/skimmed through it last night. A lot of the book (30%?) is taken up by the author's life story, which is okay, but doesn't add a lot of value of me in terms of improving my health. The remainder of the book, which I just clicked through the first page of each chapter was the usual, "good nutrition", "cardio exercise" "lift weights", etc. Not overly helpful -- if I wanted to improve my health, I would probably get a book (from the library) on each topic rather than this small smattering on each. I don't understand the number of only high (and glowing!) reviews for this book, so I figured I would add my thoughts.

Lea does a great job of breaking down each area in a way that makes healthier living seem achievable for even the most doubtful. She's relatable and approachable which are two very desirable traits in a health coach. Great resource!

I loved this book! Very good information to make my goals a reality. I'm one of those who jump in with both feet and then ... allow myself to be really disappointed when I feel I have failed. I have started and stopped so many programs... I feel by taking the baby step approach I can succeed and finally be that healthy women I've desired for so long. Really excited! Thanks Lea!

You Healthier Now has helped me in so many ways to start my life over at my advanced age of 85. I have read a number of books on dieting and healthy living/eating but this is the first book I feel has given me the tools to be successful. I particularly enjoyed the Authors description of how she floundered while seeking the solutions to her life style and eating habits. Coming home and throwing out the food in her refrigerator and re stocking with healthy food was a very meaningful passage for me. I was astounded that on inspection I too had many sugar laden, unhealthy foods in my normal every day diet. Lea gave me the power to make meaningful changes with her insightful understanding of the problems that the average person "working alone at home" faces. Strongly recommend this book for those who have tried and failed at healthy living.
