"Wake Up Successful - How to Increase Your Energy and Achieve Any Goal with a Morning Routine," by S.J. Scott, is a self-help book that helps you create a morning routine that aims for making you successful in whatever it is you wish to do.

The suggestions in this book are best applied if you have time to spare in the morning, but if you don't, you can adjust your daily schedule so that you can incorporate this 1 1/2 hour routine into your life.

The author says that first thing in the morning is the best time to gain energy for the day and work towards your goals. He suggests doing revitalizing activities for 30 minutes, and then follow that with 30-60 minutes of working on what you have the most passion for and/or what will change your life for the better. He says it's best to work on only one project at a time in order to be most effective at achieving your goals. Once a goal has been achieved, you can move on to your next goal to accomplish.

The 30 minutes of revitalizing activities will wake you up, get you motivated for the day, and give you energy to tackle your day. The author explains how the activities you usually do in the morning do not increase your energy. He gives examples of energy stimulating activities that you can do instead.

This book gets you thinking about your life - your life purpose, what you want to do with your life, what you want to change about your life, and how you can change your life.

This book has a unique angle on how to be successful that anyone can implement and see immediate results. The author knows what he's talking about. This book will change your life for the better and your life will improve. At the very least, it will get you to evaluate your life and make some adjustments.

I highly recommend this book!

If you want to become a morning person, read this book! I've been struggling with my nighttime routine and my morning routine and wasting a lot of time at both ends.

I'm going to implement the tips in "Wake Up Successful" right away. A lot of the things I knew but haven't been doing and a lot of information was new.

I also liked the part about taking an hour every day for personal development. At least for myself, being productive in the morning makes me feel happier, more accomplished, and energized about my life.

The only part I wasn't a big fan of is the lack of emphasis on a healthy breakfast. The author does say a heavy breakfast will slow you down, which is true to some extent, but later states to eat ONE banana or HALF an English muffin with almond butter and then exercise for an hour. This would leave someone starving and lacking energy. The body needs calories to have energy! (I'll cut him some slack and assume a heartier breakfast will be eaten later on)

Anyway, if you want to increase your productivity, definitely check this out one. It's a quick read too.

I've always been a morning person myself, unlike most of the people I know. While I often got up early without issues, I could never really "accomplish" anything of value. So it was a bit of a waste, I could have just stayed asleep! Not anymore though. S.J's book opens my eyes to how I can kick my morning routine into gear. I love his examples of his morning routine and how I can make a similar routine work for me. It's amazing how much more productive I could be by following his simple strategies. A++ book.

If you're like me, you are NOT a morning person. We have a hard time getting out of bed and getting anything accomplished, first thing in the morning. It looks like this book just might be the answer for us.

I haven't yet had time to implement what this book teaches, because it does take time to break the bad habits of a lifetime and form better, more productive ones. But the advice in this book makes good sense and I intend to try to follow it.

This book stresses how important a good night's sleep is to feeling energized in the morning, so in addition, this is also a book about HOW to get a good night's sleep and make the most of it. That's worth the price of another whole book.

The combinations of working as a nurse doing nights, rotating shifts & on-call really messed up my sleep. I wonder how many hours of actual sleep deprivation I have now? Innattentive ADD, anxiety & depression added on top of sleep deprivation have wreaked havoc on my body.
Why did I buy this book? My husband pointed out the difference in how I would look, act & say how I felt when I actually got a good night's rest. I did not realize how many days I have not felt well.... this book claimed to have the tools. So, I read it.
WHAT A GREAT BOOK! Easy to read, the author gave examples & was not condescending to the readers. However most of these skills I know how to do, he actually explains why they need to be done at certain times. Then he gives several examples of how you might go about this yourself, based on the type of learner you may be. Stresses that change does not happen instantly. Talks about how we are more productive, able to focus more, happier & energetic with just getting quality sleep. Emphasizes routine & structure (which I often find boring).
I have some changes to make and a simple plan to customize for myself. Thank-you for writing this!
