The purpose of this book, among other things, is to improve and save lives, and I think it hits the mark. I like detail and facts in any presentation and I found the level of detail well presented and very helpful. The book cover's subtitle, "A GERD Friendly Meal Plan and Diet Program", understates the value of this book. It gets into so many other things; it is a holistic lifestyle book, an educational book, a reference book, and more. And oh, by the way, it also has recipes that you can use! The title Recipe for Relief is great, but it implies a kind of cookbook. From my perspective, the recipe really means it is a Recipe for Life. The only recommendation I have is to add a list of terms and definitions for us laymen. With that said, I really like the price point and think it is a real value.

This diet program by RefluxMD is more than meal plans and recipes, its really a comprehensive discussion of acid reflux disease, nutrition, diet concepts, psychology for success, and a great eating plan / diet program. Basing it on the NIH’s DASH diet gives it real credibility as a healthy and safe approach to losing weight and avoiding the symptoms of GERD. Five stars!

My first visit to a GI Doctor was of no help at all. He gave me pills and did the routine Colonoscopy and Endo. We never discussed what my
condition was. I went to another doctor and he finally told me what I had.
I was pleased to find "Recipe Relief". I purchased it immediately and have become much more comfortable with GERD. I cook for my husband and he is pleased with most of the recipes I have cooked. I would eat cardboard if I thought it would heal me. Howerver, with these recipes I can enjoy so many foods.

I wish the doctor's office had a flyer that they could give out to their GERD patients and recommend "Recipe Relief".
I look forward to the next publications that you offer - thank you.

This is a very informative and helpful book if you are living with GERD (Acid reflux). I also like the fact that the book includes recipes as it is sometimes hard to find recipes that are safe to make at home and keeping in mind that you may also have a family to cook for, these recipes are also good tasting.

This is a very good book. It adds depth to the book Killing Me Softly by Jonathan E. Aviv,MD FACS. The recipes are clear and easy to master. I did write in the page number beside the item in the menu so I can find the recipe quickly. That saves time searching through all the recipes trying to find the one of interest.

So, I've lost 21 pounds so far...and I'm taking my PPIs every third day! I've got 5-ish labs to go, and I'm thinking, "will I even think about (or feel!) my heart burn by then?" Thanks RefluxMD for the encouragement to change what I can! Truly a guide to healthy eating for life, beneficial for those who have reflux issues, and really anyone who cares about eating healthy and managing their weight.
It's packed with useful info, great recipes and meal plans.

When I was first diagnosed with GERD I didn't take it seriously. Why would I? I went to my ENT with earaches and he said that they were probably reflux because there was no other issue. I had never heard of that happening to anyone and when he (actually the receptionist) gave me a one pager on my way out that read among other things, "don't drink coffee, drink wine, eat chocolate etc." I'm pretty sure I laughed and threw that paper out - since those are three of my favorite things. I cut back a bit on my coffee, did not drink for a while and took Prilosec for two weeks as I was told. I felt better, and then went on with my usual lifestyle. Two years later I'm suffering mightily, and until reading this book, truly had no idea how my habits were contributing to my health problems (most of which I never realized were all symptomatic of GERD). If you have been even casually diagnosed with GERD or reflux, please read this book. Now that I'm talking to friends and family about my reflux I've learned I'm not alone, this book is right about the fact that this issue affects so many people.
