Very good book. I like that he speaks from a lot of experience. There's a good mix of expensive fixes (that I could never afford) and practical, cheap ones. This book is definitely focused on task force Chevys, although I bet it could apply to other years as well. I also bought "how to restore your Chevrolet pickup" and I like this one better.

I like the book, however it is dated. There are many upgrades available for these trucks now that are not in the book. I own a 1955 Chevy 2nd series with many upgrades a few that are in this book. I didn't find it useful for anything new.

This is a good book for someone with no restoration experience in a very specific area. It wasn't able to help me in many areas as I am to far into my restoration project (I had already done everything he talked about in the book).

purchase this for my father as he is re-vuilding his 56 now. This book is perfect because this talks him though a lot of different customizing scenarios. I.e. Using different rear ends etc etc.

I found the book to have good advice and the author gave good explanations on why to do the things he advises. I thought the book could contain a little more detail. It is a good book for someone considering a project. Read through this before you decide to throw some money into a project truck, it does give a good idea of what needs to happen to get a nice truck.

Purchased for little brother just starting his (novice) rebuild. He loves it and after taking the time to take a look at it myself I found myself actually reading it rather than just thumbing through because they lay out the processes for each project so well. I'll have to find one for my old '59 Ford!
