The Six Yogas of Naropa are primarily associated with the Kagyu lineage, but Mullin translates only Geluk commentaries in this book. It would have been nice if this was indicated in the product description on the back cover and on Amazon, since there are important differences in the views of the two traditions.

If you are practicing deity yoga, this book, along with the Wisdom of Inner Fire by Lama Yeshe, help a great deal in the completion stage practice. Understanding the concepts of compassion, wisdom and emptiness as taught in the Madhyamaka school of Buddhism is pretty much required before you embark on this path. Be a warrior and watch out for overheating (over-blissing), projecting desire onto unsuspecting innocent bystanders and in general forgetting that the point is not to dwell in bliss, but to realize non-dual reality.

It does not give the inside details but it does explain the lineage of teachers and the way they divulge their practices and confidential information.
