I bought the Dodge service manual on CD for about $100... it's not as practical as this one because it's mostly boilerplate and there are NO photos at all. I returned it (less their $20 shipping fee for a CD!) and bought this one to see if it was useful. Yes and no. For example, Haynes tells you how to replace the instrument cluster bulbs, but nothing about the bulbs in the center console. (They're different, by the way, but they both come out the back of a circuit board.) Essentially no info on the wiring harness, just a few schematics that don't tell you where the connections are located. It's a collection of things they think you'll need to know, NOT a complete shop manual.

While this is not a true service manual such as put out by Dodge (in this case), but for the average backyard mechanic this is pretty good. It has most of the information a person at home would need.

Get to know your car better. Often a mechanic will miss inform you as to what has to be done to make a repair. They wiil try to make things more complicated than than it has to be. Wheather they repair or you do it yourself this book will take the quesswork out of the project. Clear, consise information that can save you money. It is very difficult for a mechanic to know everything about every make of car or truck. It is therefore not unreasonable to show a mechanic the Haynes manual on how it should be done by keeping this manual in the car when or if a problen should take place on a trip or at the corner garage. For instance a belt may need replacing and you may get a "song and dance" from a mechanic on how hard this belt would be to replace. Show them the best way from the instructions or picture in the Haynes repair manual. I know because it has happened to me, I saved money and time on this repair! Got back on the road in no time! Made a new mechanic friend too!

had two repair jobs to do and thought of buying this book. One was a clock spring replacement and one was a radiator replacement. I tried to educate myself through the book, but failed. It's patch work and in my opinion incomplete in instructions, leaving out important information.
I finally ended up finishing the jobs entirely with Youtube videos that other's made available online (thanks).

Judging from the quality of the cover picture, it makes you think all the illustrations are going to be.that good....they aren't.
It's full of badly contrasted black and white photos.
Searches on Google have yielded more information than this book has offered so far.

Don't leave home without it, if this is your car. But the electrical diagrams are tough to use, often being generic, and the electrical troubleshooting is really tough, if this is all you have to go on.
