Companion to George Thompson's "How to Get Along with Your Pastor," this book utilizes an excellent framework (grid) to assist the pastor and church staffer to understand why and how a congregation does what it does and doesn't do what you would like them to do. Not simply identifying where you are but assist you in seeing how to shift from an "inward conventionality" (his words) to an "empathetic serving marginal" church (his words). It is not gobbledygook, it is a practical structure easy to comprehend and use. Would be great reading for a Church Leadership Retreat. Outstanding, 5 Star.
