If a child struggles with the power of adjectives or the writing skill of designing his or her writing piece vividly create a visual picture in the reader's mind, this book is a powerful tool. After I read it to my class aloud, in a small group center, I had them re-read and capture key words and/or phrases the author used to create a mental picture.

Once again, Leslie Evans provides stellar illustrations to accompany a writer's text. This book will inspire your little leaf jumper to collect and compare leaves, perhaps write their own story, and may inspire budding artists to try their hand at sketching their finds.

This lovely lyrical writing captures an innocent childhood playing in the falling autumn leaves.Wonderful descriptions of various leaves.....maple,oak,etc...... The illustrations are superb!

This book has nice large illustrations of various types of leaves. There is a very cute dog that appears in many of the pictures as well. The text is fairly readable as well. The last page contains some information about why leaves change colors. I think it is appropriate for preschoolers and younger elementary school grades.
