This is a great little book to better understand the Western River hatches. I have been fishing fly-fishing since 1975 and this little book really brings many of the things I have learned by trial and error right to your fingertips. It saves a lot of time when you better understand the entomology of the river. Well worth the money.

This is a great book to take with you on the river. It does not have every insect but has all the major hatches. It is a great help in matching the hatch. Just don't get the book wet. It is especially helpful for beginners but also nice to have for advanced anglers.

I was hoping for a more detailed guide with specific hatches described, but this was a very brief overview type of guide book. It was fine for what it is, but it is definitely not for the advanced anglers. I would give this book or buy it for an angler just beginning to fly fish.
