I recently read this book for a health communication class and although Amy's story will make everyone cry at least once the message of this young woman is one we can all learn from. We live in a society of autonomy and informed consent and Amy gives us the tools we need to be "good" patients, informed patients and awesome team players. I thank her family for seeing her dream through and making sure her book was published. As a follow up make sure to read Amy's caring bridge site and finish where the book ended. A fast read that you just can't tear yourself away from. As a cancer advocate, mom, and pre-med student I believe everyone young teen to the elderly, healthy or facing a health crisis,patient or health professional can learn something important from Amy and her journey!

The book was such a wonderful read. It's amazing how quickly kids are forced to grow up in these situations. Amy trying to hold off on telling her parents her latest test results so she could spare them pain. That just tells me how wonderful she was. She will live in many hearts forever.

This is a must read for anyone who truly appreciates that all of life is a gift from God to be treasured for every moment. With insights, maturity and inspiration far beyond her years this book will touch your heart deeply and give you an appreciation for life and all of it's blessings all because of the strength and courage of a young lady who took the worst that life can throw at you and never stepped away from the challenge. It would also make a great graduation gift to help inspire any one who reads it. God bless you Amy!!!

This book is so inspiring. Whether or not you are living with cancer, I think everyone can take away from this to live each day to the fullest. Amy certainly taught everyone she came in contact with to appreciate the people and good things in life. She will always be remembered through this wonderful memoir.
