I purchased duck and goose so that when I read to my 2 grandchildren (both under 2), they could each hold one. They immediately each took one and everytime we read a book, they get their duck and goose and climb on Grammy's lap. The toy is very durable. There is a rod in the head which seems to go through the neck of the toys and makes their heads not "flop over". We also love reading the duck and goose board books, while holding duck and goose.

I'd been reading the Duck and Goose board books with my granddaughter for some time now, and the first time I brought over these plush toys, she was absolutely amazed. She had never seen a "tie-in" to a book before (being only 14 months old), and she practically shrieked with delight when she first saw them, instantly recognizing them for who they were. We had tremendous fun making the figures imitate what was going on in the books. And they really do look exactly like the characters in the stories.

I don't see these toys as being exploitative at all, but rather a good way to increase a child's interest in books.

By the way, they're actually smaller than 9 inches (which is a good thing) - the only way they're that big is by laying them flat and stretching their legs out full length.

OK, have to review these. They are absolutely fabulous. Our two year old listens to the Duck and Goose books and loves to answer the questions asked in the story. He still doesn't fully understand birthdays and unwrapping gifts but when I opened his gift with him and he saw Duck and Goose he snatched them up and played with them for hours. These are crazy soft to the touch but they are weighted so they can sit up. They make a wonderful addition to the books and will be loved for a long while.

Oh yes, it is close to Easter time and these little guys will be in a lucky little girl's Easter basket among many other items. Ducks and geese can be used all year long and these are just what I was looking for. I bet every time she goes with her parents on the "swan boat rides" on the Boston Common in Boston, Massachusetts, she will want to take these guys along with her. These arrived at my door very fast and sealed nicely in a sturdy box. Thanks Amazon, you did it again.

My 20 month old grandson loves the duck and goose books. I was so excited to find these stuffed toys! They are just the right size for his age and he carries them everywhere. He has even started saying "Duck" and "Goose" when showing off his new stuffed animals. He loves them and plays with them a lot and greatly enjoys reading the Duck and Goose books while holding them.

These plush figures are a great little gift for Tad Hills fans, especially small ones. They have a flexible support in the necks to that the heads stay upright when the figure is sitting on its own. They are the perfect size for a little one to wrap an arm around for a hug or to carry. They were a huge hit.
