This is an up-to-date and supportive guide for those teens who find themselves with questions they either can't ask or can't get good answers to. Parents and others who work with young people should read it to get insight into the way some kids are thinking. At a time when fitting in is so important, non-believing teens may feel especially isolated, even attacked. This book offers numerous ways to counter the remarks and questions of others, and provides role models, charts such as one showing the low murder rates in nations that have more atheists, and great resources. Very reader-friendly.

Who wrote this? Is this actually for atheists? Here are two excerpts that make me ask:
"Even a hardcore atheist has to admit: a lot of modern morality came from religion. Religious leader have developed a mountain of the world's rules, including rules that atheists follow". (p.24) Like how to treat your slave? Religion does not have a monopoly on religion. Because an atheist thinks it's wrong to steal or kill they are following religious law?
"Many ex-theists seem angrier at religion than at God". (p.63). Is this a serious statement? Atheists are not angry at god; we don't believe in it. Why would we be angry at imaginary beings. Religion however does exist.
I check this out at the library. I would not pay money for it. I suppose the resources are useful.

This helpful and informative book for teens includes interviews with teens and young adult atheists who share their experiences and give advice about how to speak to family, friends and others about the fact that they are atheist. Teens are encouraged to remain calm and polite and the book gives tips on how to respond to religious people who are critical of their lack of belief. I think that teens will find this book to be a helpful resource. I received this book free to review from Netgalley.
