Mr. Montgomery seems to think we know more about this subject than I (at least) do know. I did find it easier to follow than the previously read God Kings of the Vikings. The subject is interesting and much research by Mr. Montgomery is obvious. This is not a book one picks up for relaxing enjoyment. It needs concentration and no random thoughts filtering in to one's brain. It needs a quiet time and no distractions. Then it is an interesting read.

Hugh Montgomery God-kings series are outstanding works.... his Guide to History and historical research is the best Ive read in a long time. and the depth and breadth of the titles included is overwhelming.... history for undergraduate and graduate students doing historical research and for librarians looking to develop their collections in Europe history I Highly recommended for all academic libraries and large public libraries."I could not put his books down, and they are based on hard facts.old documents That only Hugh could obtain Threw family's.if you want the real deal and not a Dan brown fairytale all Hugh Montgomery books are for you!

All of this information could have easily been included in one of Montgomery's other genealogical works. It seemed that he put the information about his ancestor's participation in the Crusades and leadership in Syria and Palestine into a separate work with spotty information just to have another book.
