I love this book. This is the second time I purchased this book. I recommended it to our Scripture Study Group because in my opinion it is the best organized,focused study Book that is supported by many comprehension tools integrated into the comments. We all agreed to use it. The book of John is my favorite book of the Gospels because it pushes me to study even harder. Instead of using a variety of books on Bible commentary, research and culture this book has already included this information in a format that is easy to read and comprehend. The book has done a great job with identifying and integrating dogma of the Church into the commentary. Using the introduction, this book presents the required method of reading the scripture that has been identified through the Church's Tradition, and published in the "Catechism of the Catholic Church". The book prepares us to better understand the presentation method of the related topical essays and commentary. The questions at the back of the book are separated by the Chapters of the Gospel of John. Understanding and Application are the categories of questions that can be used in the study of The Gospel of John. This book has many more tools to assist the reader in discernment and understanding of The Gospel of John.

This is an excellent Catholic Study Bible - concise, clear - designed to make the reader's study as effective and rewarding as possible. I highly recommend. I like the way it is laid out. Basic notes (commentary) at the bottom of every page help the user to read the Scriptures with understanding. Filled with cross-references (other scripture passages and paragraphs from the Catechism of the Catholic Church) and Topical Essays, Word Studies, Charts, and Maps are intermingled throughout the study for deeper understanding of select details. If you're not sure who Jesus is, read the Gospel of St John to discover He is the Son of God, your Saviour. I like the full size (8 1/2 x 11) size with larger print than the smaller size.

Well written, informative and inspiring are some of the qualities of this study. Though the vocabulary may be a little stilted at times it is not hard to get the meaning because of the way it is put together. This book is recommended for all Christians, Catholic and Protestant.

It's the first time I've used a kindle book and this book is perfect for it. With the blue text I can tap it, read the in depth "footnote" background and then click "back to text".
