I found the book to be very entertaining and it was never dull. The characters were well thought out and the plot twists were great. Having read this book, I ordered "The Rackets" and "Empire Rising" from the same author.

I couldn't put this book down once I began it. The story brings real life experiences and action to the reader in a most prolific way. The characters and what it is like to be a sandhog (tunnel worker) are described so clearly you feel you are working along side of them. I have also read the author's two other novels in hard cover and they were just as wonderful. Hope I can get them for my e-reader soon. You won't be disappointed, this is a great writer.

This is a great book, but it is a reprint of Payback. Unfortunately Amazon neglected to mention that fact before I bought it. Thanks Amazon for the lack of transparency.

Did not know this was Kelly's first novel apparently rewritten to a certain extent and republished. As such, it does not measure up to his next two novels in this genre which I liked very much. Hope his next effort is as good as his last two.
