I can see the other reviewer's point, no doubt. The parental role models exemplified in the Cats' Pajamas are staid and stereotypical. However, my little daughter and I delight in the language and illustrations - the mother cat in question is apparently a single mom (as all cat mothers are, right?) and very concerned with keeping vogue in the above-referenced pajamas. Keep in mind this is NOT a politically correct book demonstrating modern methods of upbringing, but we love it for what it is - a visual feast and a cautionary tail (sic).

My daughter was given this book as a gift and she absolutely loves it. The 1930s text is quaint, the illustrations are stunning. It comes in a "cut-out" shape with a stitched binding. I love the fact that the card stock is sturdy making it durable. I applaud the publishers for resurrecting this material and will be looking at the rest of the Laughing Elephant series.

This is the cutest book, so brightly illustrated and the text is fun too. My granddaughters loved it when they visited me.
