I saw this book at a specialty store and I really thought it was very unique. I plan to fill it out and give it to my son someday when he is grown. I have just started to fill it out and I really think it is a special twist on the traditional baby book.

I am also filling out a traditional baby book as he grows and I don't see this book as a replacement to that. The baby book tends to document a child's life month by month in the first year and then by year for the first 5 years of their life. This book only has a few pages about their life as an infant and then transitions to toddler years and then older years.

This book is wonderful. It's a great way to reflect on your childs year and record all the way until they graduate high school. It touches on general things like favorites, embarasing moments, special things, etc. It's very good to have questions that apply well to the age range your child is in. For example in the early gradeschool section it asks about the childs favorite costume. Ha! My sone wore his spiderman costume all year and dresses up as Indiana Jones regularly. Then it asks at the middle school age section questions like...what shirt they wore most. Well, my son has a shirt I am literally sick of seeing in the laundry basket bc I know once it's washed he's wearing it again. Very nice book to have around. I appreciate the thought that went into it. If there were one thing I would change, it'd be the graphics. All the images inside appear as clip art style. Not crazy about that...but it's priced so low I shant complain too much. It's not like they are the worst of the clip art I have seen.

I found the For My Son book to be a great find. It would be better to start one of these when your son is a baby or as young as possible. I did get one for both my sons. One is fifteen and one is two. The fifteen year olds is harder to fill in but it goes into their early adulthood so there is still more to go. It is really set up for one parent to fill out.
