About the Author

Jessica Prentice is both a professional chef and a passionate home cook. In her cooking, Jessica brings together creativity and imagination with a deep respect for traditional cuisine and time-honored culinary practices. Through her work, she seeks to provide a model for how communities can feed themselves in a way that is satisfying and health-supportive on all levels: delicious, environmentally responsible, and grounded in the wise nourishing traditions of our forebears. In her workshops, she seeks to both inspire people to cook, and help them develop the practical skills to feel successful in the kitchen. Sarah Klein is an artist who has exhibited her work widely across the country and around the globe in galleries, in museums, on television, and in film festivals. She uses her line drawings in original animation work, much of which combines her love of food with her love of art. Maggie Gosselin is an educator in the field of sustainable food systems. She has worked for several environmental organizations including the Center for Urban Agriculture at Fairview Gardens and the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (sponsor of the Ferry Plaza Farmers’ Market in San Francisco). She is currently pursuing an M.S. in agriculture, food, and environment at Tufts University in Boston.

This food wheel is gorgeous! It is filled with whimsical and delightful hand drawn pictures of food. It offers an immediate guide to what is freshest that moment at your local store. It is my favorite gift to give for all occasions to all my food and health conscious friends. Grab one for yourself as well! It makes me smile every time I use it.

If you live in the San Francisco bay area, or on the East coast in the New York City area, here is a fun and educational product that will show you what is in season in your area so you can eat locally and stay healthier. Local food is much healthier and better for the planet than food shipped halfway around the world. I highly recommend the Food Wheel.
